Great service and great atmosphere! The treatment of the employees is excellent and very familiar. We recommend the Greek Salad and the baked feta cheese with tomato and green pepper. For desert, we highly recommend the greek yogurt with Kumquat. Everything is so natural, healthy and homemade!
We visited Corfu for 7 days. We ate here in the first day, I was blown away by the taste of the food. I tried to compare other restaurants like the famous Pergola (which is nearby) but it just didn’t come close to this. I highly recommend to visit this taverna and eat here.
Corfu city is a treasure trove of hidden gems awaiting discovery by tourists. This afternoon, while wandering the charming streets of Corfu, I stumbled upon Averto Taverna, a small gem nestled in the heart of the city. This quaint taverna offered a delightful taste of authentic Greek cuisine, precisely what any tourist should seek. The atmosphere exuded traditional Greek charm, complemented by the sweet melodies of Greek music, transporting you to bygone eras.To my pleasant surprise, the food here was truly exceptional. Traditional Greek dishes never disappoint, and Averto Taverna lived up to that reputation. However, there was one minor issue that could use improvement: the temperature of the red wine. As a wine enthusiast, I found my glass of red wine served too warm, which might be a trivial concern for some but held significance for me.The desserts didn't disappoint, making this a really good meal and experience. On a positive note, the staff were not only amazing but also exceptionally friendly. Their warmth and hospitality enhanced the overall dining experience.
Good food in a quiet ish location in Corfu town. We have been a few times over the last several years, the lady who runs it is nice. There was an issue with the order on their end but they gave us some wine to say sorry which was nice. Will still be back, my partner loves the beef stew
Cute little taverna on a side street. Good portions and delicious home cooked food. We had the kleftiko and the pastitsada which were amazing, plus the stuffed pepper and tomato.
Family run restaurant. Can’t be recommended highly enough. Delicious food - meatballs and sauce (soutzoukakia - yummy) and pork souvlaki were our favourites. Wonderful friendly staff (Costas is a legend).
Lovely little restaurant. Great pizza, good vibes and a perfect aperol spritz. If you are looking for a good restaurant in Corfu Town this is it!! They were fully booked the first night we came, and they reserved a table for us the night after. Very attentive and nice staff. Remembered us right away. We highway recommend.
Lovely place, great food (some pictures show the dishes half way through!) and great atmosphere. Worth repeating! The sofrito and vine leaves were superb. They even invited us to a liquor after lunch!
